“Imagery that stirs”
Photography has been the center of my creative and work life for almost as long as I remember. It is a means of expression and a source of art and commerce in my life. I love the ability to tell stories and create visual communications of ideas and thoughts through photography. From the first time watching prints develop in a darkroom as an 11 year old, to the latest digital techniques, I still have a great passion for photography and often look for the next way to create images and express myself.
To be able to create imagery that stirs…memories, desires, compassion, involvement, fun, feelings or other connections with the viewer, is deeply satisfying for me. I seek any kind of emotional response to my images, personal or assignment related.
People inspire me. Children and those who help make our world better inspire me. The quality of light and how it plays in the beauty of art and nature inspires me. I am always inspired by the creative ways the people choose to communicate.
As a social and active person, I have enjoyed the ability to meet and interact with many people who have contributed to making my life much fuller and richer. Its only natural that many of my images reflect things important in my life: people doing things in interesting places.
I have just completed a great experience with the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics which I am working on galleries to share on my website. Come back soon to see what is was all about. Check out my blog
I am a true Vancouverite but work where my skills are required. A dual Canadian and US national, I can work freely almost anywhere.
